Check your requirements
Oct 19, 2019 Your Mac only has so much processing power, particularly when it comes to graphics. The more displays you use, the more of a performance hit your Mac is going to take. It's a lot easier on your Mac if you use an external, 1080p display (1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels), rather than an external, 4K display (3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 pixels). Yet for the majority of us doing the majority of work we do, all that matters is whether the monitor will work when you connect it to a 2018 Mac mini. If the monitor is sold as Thunderbolt 3, USB. After much research I purchased this second hand monitor with power cable only for a 2012 Mac mini, which has only an hdmi to dvi adapter cable.
